The 2016 NCAA Tournament begins next week, and SI.com’s Richard Deitsch took to Twitter to provide the long-anticipated announcer pairings.
Here they are:
Top: Jim Nantz/Bill Raftery/Grant Hill/Tracy Wolfson
Brian Anderson/Steve Smith/Dana Jacobson
Lundquist/Spanarkel/LaForce
Harlan/Miller/Bonner/Lewis Johnson
Eagle/Webber/Elmore/Washburn
Dedes/Gottlieb/Ros Gold-Onwude
Catalon/Lappas/Erdahl
Blackburn/Giminski/Jamie Maggio
Anderson/Smith/Jacobson will have call games through regionals.
It’s interesting to not see longtime tournament color commentator Clark Kellogg among the list, so perhaps he is slated for a studio analyst’s role this season. It’s also nice to see some more NBA names alongside Reggie Miller, with Steve Smith and Chris Webber joining this season.
Of course, it’s always a pleasure to see the usual suspects like Jim Nantz, Verne Lundquist, Kevin Harlan and others among the pool.
Just what games each announcing team will have remains to be seen, but they’ve all got experience calling the big dance and should each bring their own unique flair to each game leading up to the Final Four.
Speaking of, the Final Four and national championship game will be on TBS this year as opposed to CBS, for the first time ever.
