It is pretty clear that the San Francisco 49ers are going to be moving on from quarterback Colin Kaepernick right now. However, it may not be too long before he actually has another job in the NFL.
The Denver Broncos are hoping to re-sign Brock Osweiler to take over for the recently-retired Peyton Manning, but there is a chance he will leave to chase money with the Houston Texans. This is where Colin Kaepernick possibly comes into the picture.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Broncos could be looking at Kaepernick as their backup plan if Osweiler were to leave in free agency. This could be a huge pickup or a huge risk for the Broncos as Kapernick could go either way in their offensive scheme.
If the #Broncos lose QB Brock Osweiler, expect them to come after QB Colin Kaepernick. That appears to be their backup plan.

In five seasons with the 49ers, Kaepernick has had a roller coaster type season with the team. He has thrown for over 10,000 yards and 56 touchdowns and ran for 1,832 yards and 11 touchdowns.
However, in the last two seasons, he has combined for 15 of 26 interceptions and threw only 25 touchdowns. He was replaced midway through the 2015 season by Blaine Gabbert while he was placed on injured reserved with a separated shoulder.
