The Denver Broncos are in the market for a new quarterback. With Peyton Manning’s not entirely surprising announcement that he plans on retiring from football, the recent Super Bowl champs are out a starting quarterback and leader. However, receiver Emmanuel Sanders, has someone specific in mind.
Infamous high school quarterback Uncle Rico, from the 2004 film Napoleon Dynamite, is his top choice.
The Broncos receiver tweeted his preference, noting Uncle Rico’s talent for “throwing [in] or over mountains.”

In the indie film, Uncle Rico shows off his throwing skills in some home-movies that he proudly shows his nephews. He also brags about how “back in the day” he could have gone pro, but maybe he’ll have a shot in Denver.
It’s no doubt that the Broncos have a serious challenge ahead of them in filling the shoes of the legendary Peyton Manning, but it seems they remain confident that they’ll find someone right for the job and for the team.
