Urban Meyer endorses John Kasich for president ahead of Ohio primary

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer has endorsed Ohio governor and Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, according to a video posted to Kasich’s official Twitter.

Kasich was first elected to the governorship in 2011, one year before Meyer arrived in Columbus. It’s interesting to see this video featuring the legendary coach, as Meyer implied last month that he would be keeping his political views to himself and not make his choice for president known to the public.

But if you think about it, regardless of your own views, it only makes sense that Meyer would support Kasich. One is a born and bred Ohio guy, and the other is a proud graduate of Ohio State and thus a proud Buckeyes supporter. In a way, Meyer supporting Kasich is a match made in political heaven.

Granted, I’m one who believes that politics and sports should be left separate, but this video is pretty solid in its laid back nature, just like Urban Meyer himself.

Also, consider this. At least he didn’t endorse Donald Trump!
