Two Miami football players received some good news on Friday, as Hurricanes offensive linemen Trevor Darling and Jahair Jones learned their cases have been dropped.
Darling and Jones had previously been arrested for resisting an officer without violence and were facing first-degree misdemeanor charges.
According to The Miami Herald, Jones appeared in court on Thursday and learned his case was dropped. Darling is expected to have the same fate, though he has not appeared in court yet and has no appearance date scheduled.
The cases were dropped on a technicality because wrong legal terminology produced an insufficient arrest form.
Now, the Miami football players will be able to focus on returning to the team and preparing to tackle the upcoming college football season.
The Hurricanes open their 2016 campaign on Sept. 3 against the Florida A&M Rattlers at Sun Life Stadium.
