NFL Draft hopeful and former Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Dak Prescott has been arrested for DUI in Starkville, Mississippi.
The news was broken by The Clarion-Ledger late on Saturday night.
“The arrest occurred near the Cotton District in Starkville,” the report states. “Police pulled over Prescott in a white 2016 Cadillac Escalade. No further details were immediately available.”
The arrest also occurred two days after he took part in Mississippi State’s pro day in which 30 of 32 teams watched him throw. It also happened just hours after Prescott hosted a camp for more than 200 children. Not a good message to show the children that, likely, look up to him as an athlete.
Prescott was expected to be a mid-round draft pick, and was scheduled to visit with the Buffalo Bills in April. Other teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys, according to The Clarion-Ledger, showed interest in the 2016 Senior Bowl MVP.
With this latest news, it’s hard to think many teams will keep him on their draft boards knowing that he can’t show proper judgement, especially with the biggest day of his career right around the corner.
