Ladarius Green praises Steelers fans, says they influenced his signing

The Pittsburgh Steelers wasted no time replacing long-time tight end Heath Miller, who retired in the offseason, by signing San Diego Chargers free agent tight end Ladarius Green.

Green, who provides the Steelers with an intriguing red zone threat and new option in the passing game, was one of the top available tight ends on the open market. And if the Steelers fanbase was wondering how easy it will be to welcome him, they should wonder no more.

Last season, the Steelers traveled to San Diego and were able to score the victory.

A large part of Pittsburgh’s win was the loud fans at the end of the game. Those same fans and their passion are also a big reason for Green deciding to take his talents to the East Coast.

“Did I notice?” Green said, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “I think everyone noticed the number of Steelers fans out there. When you saw the towels in there it was pretty bad for us because we had to go on silent count. We knew they were there. . . . You want to be around that kind of stuff. It was a pretty big point in coming.”

That will get Green immediately in the good graces of Steeler Nation.

It’s safe to say that fans will be waving their towels and cheering him on in no time.
