Denzel Valentine thanks fans in heartfelt Instagram post

Michigan State star Denzel Valentine and his teammates saw their championship hopes die early in this year’s NCAA Tournament after losing to No. 15 Middle Tennessee State in the opening round yesterday. While the loss definitely stings, that hasn’t stopped Valentine from thanking the Spartans fans for four years of devotion.

Valentine took to Instagram and posted a picture with a caption simply expressing thanks to the fans that helped make him a household name the past few years.

Valentine averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game this season as Michigan State went 29-6 (13-5 Big Ten) and won the Big Ten Tournament. Next for Valentine is the upcoming NBA Draft, where he is currently expected to be a mid first-round pick.

Given how incredibly his game developed in four years playing under a Hall of Fame coach in Tom Izzo, his professional future on the hardwood is looking bright.
