Former Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves has meetings set up with eight NFL teams ahead of next month’s draft. According to a tweet from NFL Network’s Rand Getlin, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are among those eight.
It’s important to note that all four of those teams hold a Top 10 pick in the NFL Draft, and Hargreaves is expected to be picked there after running a 4.50 40-yard dash at last month’s NFL Scouting Combine. He isn’t the biggest at 5-foot-10, 204 pounds, but is already drawing comparisons to Cleveland Browns corner Joe Haden and New York Jets corner Darrelle Revis.
And on top of that, all four of those teams could use a top shutdown cornerback and in their secondary next season.
Considering how Hargreaves totaled 121 tackles with 10 interceptions and 27 pass-breakups in three years with the Gators, it’s easy to see why NFL teams would line up to meet with him.
Just who selects Hargreaves, however, remains to be seen.
