Les Miles in Cuba to watch Rays play

The Tampa Bay Rays will make history today as they become the first MLB team to play in Cuba since the Baltimore Orioles in 1999. This is also a huge deal as many names will attend the game, including President Obama and LSU head football coach Les Miles.

Former LSU baseball star and current Ray Mikie Mathook tweeted that he was excited for Miles to be in town for the game. I’m sure he will pop up more than a few times when the game airs today.

The celebrities have come out in droves for this historic game as it is the second big sporting event a United States team has played since President Obama ended the dispute with Cuba.

Last fall, the Coastal Carolina basketball team played an exhibition game against the Cuban national team and it was certainly an emotional site to be seen.

I am sure this game between the Rays and the Cuban national baseball team will be just as awesome. We can only hope that Les Miles shares his thoughts on the trip in the coming days.

The game will air at 2 p.m. EST on ESPN and the WatchESPN app.
