Former Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III is drawing the most attention from the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers following today’s pro day, according to Matt Baker of The Tampa Bay Times.
This isn’t entirely a surprise, as Miami has already boosted its secondary in trading for former Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles corner Byron Maxwell, and San Francisco could really use an upgrade at cornerback since Tramaine Brock and Kenneth Acker aren’t long-term solutions.
And Hargreaves, who is already drawn comparisons to New York Jets star corner Darrelle Revis, would be a great fit on either team. He is a former five-star recruit who totaled 121 tackles, 10 interceptions and 27 pass breakups with the Gators, and he was so great at what he did that opposing teams just stopped throwing the football in his general direction last season.
Thus, with Hargreaves looking more and more like a Top 10 pick and San Francisco picking seventh while Miami picks 13th, it’s going to be interesting to see which team snags him in April!
