Former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson’s son, four-star wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr., committed to Nebraska today, and the three-time Pro Bowler took to Twitter today to explain just why his son chose the Cornhuskers over schools like Alabama, Ohio State and his alma mater USC.
Relationships and trust go a long way in making this decision #GBR

Johnson’s tweet is clearly a nod to Nebraska head coach Mike Riley, who was Johnson’s offensive coordinator during his time with the Trojans. Given how Johnson posted 168 catches for 2,796 yards and 16 touchdowns in two seasons before being selected first overall by the New York Jets in 1996, it’s no wonder that he has nothing but good things to say about Riley.
Johnson’s going on to catch 814 passes for 10,571 yards and 64 touchdowns and win a Super Bowl in the NFL was just an added bonus.
And now, Keyshawn Jr. will have the opportunity to play and develop as a player for the man who helped develop his own father. Needless to say, the relationships and trust that Keyshawn Sr. mentioned on Twitter have come full circle.
