Notre Dame running back C.J. Prosise drew comparisons to former Philadelphia Eagles running back Duce Staley from one NFL scout, according to NJ.com.
“He’s just going to keep getting better,” the scout said before comparing Prosise to Staley.
Though Staley is not the most glamorous name one could receive in terms of a pro comparison, it isn’t the absolute worst either. The former third-round pick out of South Carolina only had 5,785 yards and 24 touchdowns in 10 NFL seasons with the Eagles and then Pittsburgh Steelers, but was also an excellent factor in the passing game. Staley wrapped up his career with 287 receptions for 2,587 yards and 10 touchdowns and even won a Super Bowl in his career.
Given how Prosise is leaving Notre Dame with 1,155 rush yards and 12 touchdowns along with 62 catches for 896 yards and three scores, one can see the comparison even though Prosise didn’t become the lead running back until last season.
That all being said, it’s going to be interesting to find out when Prosise hears his name called next month, so stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates!
