North Dakota State quarterback and future first-round NFL Draft pick Carson Wentz had his Pro Day today and though inclement weather prevented a number of teams from turning up, he still drew rave reviews. Former Dallas Cowboys executive and NFL.com analyst Gil Brandt was in attendance and posted his own review of Wentz’s performance on Twitter.
One of the best pro days I've ever witnessed. Wentz reminds me of Joe Flacco. He had 2 55-yard passes that were as pretty as I've seen.

That’s quite the comparison. Like Wentz, Flacco was a first-round pick out of an FCS school in Delaware and has since gone on to enjoy a fine NFL career that includes a Super Bowl victory.
Just how Wentz will perform on the NFL level remains to be seen, but the fact that a seasoned former executive in Brandt gave him such a rave review has to be a positive sign. At this point, it wouldn’t at all be a shock if the Cleveland Browns selected the former FCS champion quarterback with the No. 2 pick next month.
