UFC 200 is finally official.
After weeks of speculation, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Wednesday that an expected rematch between featherweight champion Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz is set to headline the event. The rematch will take place at welterweight.
UFC 200 takes place on July 9 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor and Diaz previously met at UFC 196. Unfortunately for McGregor, his 170-pound debut did not go as planned and Diaz secured a big win that brought the McGregor hype train to a screeching halt.
Now, McGregor is hoping to rebound with a full fight camp.
Meanwhile, in the co-main event, former featherweight champion Jose Aldo meets former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar for the interim featherweight title. Aldo and Edgar previously met at UFC 156 in February 2013, with Aldo winning a unanimous decision.
Also announced for UFC 200 was Cain Velasquez (13-2) vs. Travis Browne (18-3-1) and Johny Hendricks (17-4) vs. Kelvin Gastelum(11-2).
Further information on the event is expected to come in the coming weeks.
