Ezekiel Elliott meeting with Cowboys

Former Ohio State star running back Ezekiel Elliott will fly to Dallas from Columbus tomorrow morning ahead of a meeting with the Cowboys, according to a tweet from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Elliott is sure to be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft in Chicago later this month and has drawn plenty of interest from the Cowboys, who are hurting for a star running back after losing DeMarco Murray to free agency prior to last season. Darren McFadden did better than anticipated for Dallas last season, but Elliott is someone who can immediately step into a starting role.

Keep in mind that in three years with the Buckeyes, Elliott won a national championship and managed 3,961 rush yards with 43 touchdowns and also had 58 catches for 449 yards and a score through the air.

The only issue, for lack of better word, is that Dallas owns the No. 4 pick in the draft and talented as Ezekiel Elliott is, fourth overall is a bit of a reach for any running back. Just the same, Dallas is going to do what it feels is best for its immediate future.
