North Carolina forward Brice Johnson is listed by the Bovada Sportsbook as the favorite to be named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player for 2016.
This isn’t at all a surprise, as the 6-foot-9 senior has had a tournament for the ages. Over UNC’s five games, he is averaging 20 points, 9.6 rebounds and three blocks per game while shooting an astounding 62 percent from the field. He is a beast in the paint and is going to be a key figure in the No. 1 Tar Heels’ attack in tonight’s national championship matchup against No. 2 Villanova, set to tip off on TBS in just a few minutes.
Brice Johnson is also not only playing for a national championship and the potential honor of being named Most Outstanding Player, but for his future. The way he’s played in March, he’s staring being picked in the first round of June’s NBA Draft in the face.
