Oklahoma Sooners defensive tackle Charles Walker will miss the rest of spring practices following surgery to correct a wrist injury, according to a Friday report from Jason Kersey of The Oklahoman.
Walker replied to a reporter on Twitter and said that his operation was “not a big deal” and was just correcting an issue from the 2015 season. A key reserve last year, the former three-star recruit from the Dallas area managed 36 tackles in 12 games and was second on the Sooners with 10 tackles for a loss.
Unfortunately, Walker suffered a concussion late last season and did not play in the Orange Bowl semifinal. The good news is that his recent surgery shouldn’t prevent him from being ready for the start of the 2016 season, a year where Oklahoma should have plenty of opportunity to repeat its success from last year.
