It’s baseball season, which means that “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver was not shy about taking a shot at the team that everyone loves to hate, the New York Yankees.
In the segment, which may be seen below, Oliver ripped the Yankees for charging an inordinate amount of money for the infamous Legends seats on top of giving those guests clear preferential treatment. Oliver also ripped the team’s new policy of not allowing print-at-home tickets and a team executive basically saying that he didn’t want people sitting in premium seats unless they paid full price for them.

Speaking as a proud Yankees fan, I get the criticism. Though I’ll never stop enjoying going to games, not having the option to print my tickets at home anymore is incredibly frustrating. Thus, when Oliver said that he would be selling six Legends tickets for 25 cents apiece, I applauded him.
Maybe if the everyman sat in the Legends seats more often, the Yankee Stadium prices would finally drop.
