UConn ladies bring Huskies fourth straight championship

The UConn Huskies routed Syracuse 82-51 to win its fourth consecutive Women’s NCAA Tournament and 11th overall under longtime coach Geno Auriemma.

Breanna Stewart led UConn with 24 points and 10 rebounds while Morgan Tuck chipped in 19 of her own. The Huskies shot 52 percent from the field as a unit and out-rebounded the Lady Orange 43-27, further proving that they are indeed the best women’s basketball team in history.

And that is exactly why Syracuse just couldn’t keep up despite a great defense. This team’s players just know each other so well that every time they step on the court, it’s just a perfect system.

Moreover, Auriemma is a Hall of Famer who is just fantastic at what he does. This season marked the sixth time that UConn has gone undefeated under his watch and he holds a record of 954-134 to go with his 11 titles. Simply put, there is no stopping this program and they deserve every bit of this year’s championship.
