North Carolina fan starts petition to have NCAA overturn Villanova’s win

Villanova beat North Carolina earlier this week to win the 2016 NCAA Tournament, and one Tar Heels fan named Michael Kline is not happy with how the game was officiated. Thus, there is now a petition on for the result to be overturned due to shoddy officiating.

The statement reads as follows:

“This game was poorly officiated from the tip off to the end. It was a one sided called game all the way through. The officials called fouls against UNC that should have not been called and never called Villanova for the fouls they committed. The officials never called Villanova for multiple travel violations either. Also I want a complete investigation into the officials as it was them that decided the game not who played better.”

Wow, Mikey, tell us how you REALLY feel. Look, I get it. North Carolina fans are definitely bummed that their team didn’t win a third title under coach Roy Williams, but they still played a great game and were in it right until the very end, when Wildcats forward Kris Jenkins sunk the game-winning three at the buzzer. The Tar Heels were called for 20 fouls to Villanova’s 16, but let’s not forget that UNC also shot just 43 percent from the field while Villanova shot 58.

Long story short, North Carolina’s shots just weren’t falling.

Even worse is that this petition is nearing the 500 signatures required for it to be sent to the NCAA, so there are that many sore losers over the game.
