USC alumni turn out in droves for Trojans’ spring game

A great deal of USC alumni turned up for the Trojans’ spring game today, including Hall of Famer Marcus Allen as well as former championship-winning quarterback Matt Leinart, according to a list released by WeAreSC.

“These players show our current players where the bar is set,” head coach Clay Helton said. “Sometimes the players tune us out as coaches but they aren’t going to tune out Marcus Allen.”

Other Trojans alumni in attendance were former linebacker Willie McGinest, who won three Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, as well as former star quarterbacks Matt Barkley and John David Booty. Al Cowlings and former star receiver Mike Williams also turned up.

And it’s great to see former members of such a historical program come out and support the current generation of players. 2015 was something of a roller coaster for USC football, though the Trojans did finish 8-6 (6-3 Pac-12) and made the Holiday Bowl.

Thus, with the roster set to look a lot different in 2016, best to hear from people who have been through that before.
