Jimbo Fisher focused on Deondre Francois at quarterback?

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher appears to have most of his focus on freshman Deondre Francois when it comes to the quarterback position, according to a report by David Visser of SB Nation.

Per the report, Fisher stopped short of saying that Francois would be the Seminoles’ top dog at the position for the spring as senior Sean Maguire recovers from a fractured ankle, but did praise how Francois used his legs to move in the pocket and keep his options open in the team’s spring game.

“I think he did a great job keeping his poise throughout the whole game,” Fisher said. “I was very pleased with the decisions he made in the pocket with his legs.”

A former four-star talent out of Florida’s IMG Academy, Francois certainly does seem to have turned a lot of heads this spring. The dual-threat quarterback could be better suited for Fisher’s system than Maguire, despite Maguire’s experience, so be sure to stay tuned to Campus Sports for further updates on Francois as the countdown to the 2016 season continues!
