The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced some ground-breaking news regarding its subscription-only, online platform UFC Fight Pass. It was announced that for the first time in UFC Fight Pass history a men’s title will be on the line.
On July 7, UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos is set to make his return to the Octagon against Eddie Alvarez.
The bout will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas during UFC International Fight Week — which also includes UFC 200 and The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale.

Dos Anjos most recently was supposed to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 196, but he was forced out of the bout due to injury. Now, steps into the Octagon on a five-fight winning streak looking to prevent Eddie Alvarez from being one of the only MMA fighters in history to hold a Bellator and UFC title.
Alvarez, meanwhile, is on a two-fight winning streak with split-decision victories over former UFC title holder Anthony Pettis and former Strikeforce champ Gilbert Melendez.
Now, he has his time for glory in the UFC.
Additional fights for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
