Conor McGregor officially pulled from UFC 200

After rumors were swirling throughout the day on Tuesday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has been pulled from the main event of UFC 200 in July.

According to UFC president Dana White on ESPN’s SportsCenter, McGregor was pulled from the fight for refusing to fly to Las Vegas for promotional events.

White added that McGregor’s original opponent for the event, Nate Diaz, is flying to Las Vegas with his team tonight. The UFC will work on a new fight for Diaz at UFC 200, while also adding another event Dana White said the promotion is working on.

UFC 200 is set to take place on July 9 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Currently, a women’s bantamweight title fight between champion Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes and an interim featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar sit atop the fight card.
