Philadelphia Eagles executive Howie Roseman has confirmed that the team will select a quarterback with the newly acquired No. 2 overall pick in next week’s NFL Draft, according to Reuben Frank of CSN Philly.
Howie: "Only way you can make this trade is if you're totally comfortable with both guys."

Philadelphia acquired the pick from the Cleveland Browns earlier this afternoon in exchange for a number of draft picks, including the No. 8 selection the Eagles formerly held, and also gave up a 2017 first-round pick. This all but confirms that the No. 2 pick next week will be North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz, as the Los Angeles Rams appear more likely to use the No. 1 pick on Cal Golden Bears quarterback Jared Goff.
This could create something of a quarterback controversy in the City of Brotherly Love, as Sam Bradford inked a two-year, $36 million deal with $26 million guaranteed earlier this year. Roseman has said Bradford won’t be traded, but that leaves Chase Daniel as the third-stringer and Bradford making way too much money as a backup.
Either way, Philadelphia’s story for the 2016 season just got a lot more interesting.
