The Tennessee Titans were not done after trading away the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, as they traded for the Cleveland Browns’ No. 8 pick and used it to select a fine offensive lineman in Michigan State’s Jack Conklin.
Conklin, a former Spartans walk-on, was picked over a seemingly elite player in Laremy Tunsil, who has since seen his stock fall after a video of him smoking marijuana was posted to Twitter shortly before the draft. As a result, the Titans have a versatile player who can play literally any offensive line position.
At this rate, it’s looking like Conklin will be playing left tackle to offer second-year quarterback Marcus Mariota some protection. Simply put, once the rest of the Titans’ offense comes into form, be it at wide receiver or running back, their offense could finally get its wheels going.
