Maryland adds No. 1 DE Joshua Kaindoh

New Maryland coach D.J. Durkin has to be feeling pretty excited, as Class of 2017 four-star recruit Joshua Kaindoh has officially committed to the Terps.

Kaindoh, who is the No. 1 defensive end prospect in his class and currently attends Florida’s IMG Academy, announced his decision in a statement posted to his Twitter.

Simply put, Durkin’s defense at Maryland is going to be looking quite good in the next couple of years. Prior to arriving in College Park, he was the defensive coordinator for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan last year and the Wolverines finished fourth in total defense while gaining a reputation as being hard-hitting and tactical.

Just how much of an impact Kaindoh will have overall remains to be seen, but he is a phenomenal pass rusher already. Once he fills out a bit, he should be an excellent addition to a Maryland team primed for a comeback.
