Former Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg was one of the most polarizing prospects in this year’s NFL Draft class, with scouts either loving or hating him, but that still didn’t take away from the sheer thrill on his face the moment he found out the New York Jets were taking him in the second round.
In a picture posted to Sqor, that exact moment was indeed captured. Check it out below!

Being a second-round pick is quite the accomplishment for Hackenberg, whose performances at both the NFL Scouting Combine and Penn State’s pro day earlier this year were not exactly eye-opening. The good news for him is that he has the tools to succeed with the Jets, namely in having Chan Gailey as an offensive coordinator, and the plan is to let him sit for a year while he learns the ropes.
At that point, here’s hoping that his last two years with the Nittany Lions were subpar due to coaching as opposed to overall skill.
