NBA Draft Lottery results 2016: 76ers land No. 1 pick, Lakers No. 2

The 2016 NBA Draft Lottery took place in New York on Tuesday night.

Entering the night, the Philadelphia 76ers had the greatest odds at earning the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft with a 25 percent chance, but was there another lottery day surprise on the horizon?

When the picks began to be announced, everything played out according to plan from selections No. 14 through No. 4. Because the Phoenix Suns hold the first-round pick of the Washington Wizards, Phoenix now holds two of the top 13 picks.

The big winners of the lottery were the 76ers, who landed the No. 1 pick as planned. Los Angeles leaped over the Boston Celtics to earn pick No. 2, while the Celtics sit at No. 3.

If you missed out on tonight’s festivities, we have got you covered.
