Abdul-Malik Abu returning to NC State for 2016-17 season

The NC State Wolfpack has had a very good week when it comes to the 2016-17 season. Just days after Turkish sensation Omer Yurtseven committed to the team, forward Abdul-Malik Abu confirmed that he would be pulling out of the NBA Draft and returning to school.

Abu had declared for the draft just a few months ago, but he was not invited to the NBA Combine, which led to his decision to return to Raleigh for one more season. He should end up being a big part of a team that is looking to be very young going into the 2016-17 season.

The Wolfpack already lost Cat Barber to the NBA and Caleb and Cody Martin to transfer. However, with the return of Abu, the team should be able to make some noise in the ACC with five-star guard Dennis Smith Jr., Terry Henderson and Yurtseven joining the team this year.

During his sophomore year, Abdul-Malik Abu averaged 12.9 points and 8.8 rebounds. He should be able to improve on those numbers and make a big impact for the Wolfpack this year.
