NCAA Softball Tournament 2016: Florida scores two runs on bases-loaded walk

The top-ranked Florida Gators’ softball team are looking to continue their dominance in the sport as they are going for their third-straight national championship. They clinched a spot in the Super Regional on Sunday with an 8-0 win over Central Florida.

The Gators dominated in the game from the beginning, but the biggest turning point in the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Gators had a 3-0 lead with the bases loaded when pitcher Jamie Ujvari walked Taylore Fuller to make the score 4-0.

However, the Knights weren’t paying attention, which allowed Kelsey Stewart to round third and sprint home behind Fuller to score a second run, surprising their opponents and even her teammate.

I don’t know what is more priceless: the look on Fuller’s face when Stewart sprinted up behind her or the fact that Ujvari had her back turned to the plate, completely oblivious to what had just happened.

I guess that is why Florida is going for their national title in as many years and the Knights are going home to get an early start to their summer.
