New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will once again appeal his four-game suspension stemming from the Deflategate scandal. While Brady’s availability for Week 1 hangs in the balance, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald hopes he doesn’t have to face the future Hall of Famer in the season-opener.
The Arizona Republic went out and polled a number of Cardinals players about Brady and the Patriots after the quarterback announced his intentions to appeal at the last possible second on Monday.
Fitzgerald gave Brady his props, but said he wouldn’t lose any sleep if he didn’t play in Week 1.
“I love Tom, that’s my man. But if he doesn’t play, I wouldn’t shed any tears. I’d love to see him back the next week, though,” Fitzgerald said.
Of course, Larry Fitzgerald would rather the inexperienced Jimmy Garrappolo play on Sept. 11, especially since the Cardinals travel to Gillette Stadium to open the season.
If you are an NFL team that is going up against the Patriots, it is hard to say you wouldn’t take any advantage possible.
