On Friday afternoon, four-star outside linebacker Markail Benton announced his commitment to Nick Saban’s Alabama program.
In doing this, Benton passed on both Florida State and Auburn. Benton received a total of 19 offers from several major programs including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Clemson, Penn State and Mississippi State, just to name a handful.
Aaron Suttles of Tuscaloosa News announced Benton’s decision to commit to the team via Twitter on Friday morning.

Benton is the No. 3 player at his position the country per 247 Sports.
The outside linebacker was recruited by Alabama’s Derrick Ansley and Jeremy Pruitt, per 247 Sports. Benton’s decision to commit makes him the 12th member of the Alabama 2017 class, which is currently the top class in the entire SEC.
