The Alabama football program has added one of the most talented pass catchers in the Class of 2017 to its recruiting class. On Monday evening, four-star wide receiver Tyrell Shavers announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
Shavers announced his commitment on social media.
“I would like to thank all the coaches for giving me the opportunity to come and play football and attend their University,” Shavers wrote on Twitter. “After talking with my family and coaches I am closing down my recruitment and committing to The University of Alabama.”

During his junior year at Lewisville High School, Shavers hauled in 36 passes for 667 yards and 10 touchdowns. Shavers will now go into his senior season hoping to build off of those numbers.
Shavers had a number of offers from top programs, including SEC standouts like LSU and Texas A&M, among others.
