Court date for Alabama’s Cam Robinson, Hootie Jones postponed

Any one waiting to see what the punishment for Alabama star Cam Robinson and defensive back Hootie Jones will be is going to have to wait. The court date for the pair of Crimson Tide football players was initially set for June 16, but has been delayed.

The news comes from WBRC FOX 6 News.

The Monroe County District Attorney’s office delayed the court date at the request of the defense’s attorney, but a future court date has yet to be set.

Robinson and Jones were arrested on May 17. Robinson was charged with felony possession of a stolen gun, while Jones received a charge of misdemeanor possession of a firearm in the presence of marijuana.

Both players were also hit with marijuana possession charges.

Robinson is projected to be one of the top picks in the 2017 NFL Draft, so there is plenty of interest in his situation. Alabama head coach Nick Saban has said he prefers to wait until the legal process plays out before handing down punishment to the players, so it could still be quite some time until we learn whether Robinson will be available for the Crimson Tide in 2016.
