Oklahoma State to vote on Mike Gundy contract extension

Mike Gundy has been a staple with the Oklahoma State football program over the last 11 seasons and it looks like he won’t be going anywhere in the immediate future.

According to Kyle Frederickson of The Oklahoman, the Oklahoma State Board of Regents will vote on Friday to determine whether Gundy will receive a two-year contract extension with a base salary worth $3.55 million per year

Gundy currently has four years remaining on his previous eight-year deal worth around $30 million that he previously signed.

If the contract extension is approved, Oklahoma State would have Gundy under contract through the end of 2021 season.

Gundy enters the 2016 college football season with a 94-47 all-time record as the Cowboys head coach. He led Oklahoma State to a Big 12 title in 2011.

Oklahoma State kicks off its 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 when the team plays host to the Southeastern Louisiana Lions at Boone Pickens Stadium.
