The Baylor football program has lost yet another highly-touted recruit. On Friday, it was announced that the Bears have released four-star defensive end Brandon Bowen from his National Letter of Intent.
Bowen, a standout from Byron Nelson High School in the Dallas area, also held offers Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and TCU during his recruitment.
The news was first reported from NBC DFW.
If Bowen follows in the footsteps of his fellow ex-Baylor commits, he could very well end up with a handful of them at Texas. Charlie Strong certainly would appreciate yet another top recruit joining his program from an in-state rival.
In addition to Bowen, Baylor has released J.P. Urquidez, Kameron Martin, Parrish Cobb, Patrick Hudson, Devin Duvernay and Donovan Duvernay from their National Letters of Intent since head coach Art Briles was fired in the midst of a sexual assault scandal.
It will be interesting to see how well Baylor performs on the field with an incredibly depleted roster.
