2016 Jim Thorpe Award watch list features 39 players

Watch list season continues, with The Jim Thorpe Award announcings its 39-player preseason watch list for the 2016 college football season.

The Thorpe Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the nation, has been awarded to the top defensive back in college football annually since 1986. The award is named after Jim Thorpe, a multi-sport star.

This year’s preseason watch list for the Thorpe Award is headlined by a number of SEC players, including Alabama’s Eddie Jackson and Jamal Adams and Tre’Davious White of LSU.

Desmond King of Iowa, last year’s winner, also makes an appearance.
