KD Cannon having knee surgery, will be ready for season

The Baylor Bears cannot afford to lose anymore players going into the 2016 season and they got a bit of a scare on Monday. It was reported that junior wide receiver KD Cannon is set to have a surgical procedure later this week to combat a knee injury suffered this summer.

The news was reported on Monday that he will have the surgical procedure on Tuesday. However, he should be ready to take the field once the Bears open the 2016 season.

Cannon is going to be the biggest piece for Baylor’s offense this year and it would be a huge blow for them if he were to miss any significant time. He will be their best pass catcher as he looks to take over for Corey Coleman.

Over the last two years, KD Cannon has racked up nearly 1,900 yards and 14 touchdowns. I would expect him to be just as big of a piece this season.

Cannon and the Bears open the season against Northwestern State on Sept. 3.
