Over the weekend, the college football world was shocked by the tragic deaths of former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler and Nebraska punter Sam Foltz. Wisconsin kicker Rafael Gaglianone will honor the latter player by wearing his number, 27, going into the 2016 season.
The Big Ten seems to be sticking together after this tragedy, which left two players dead and another, LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye, in the hospital with injuries.
Gaglianone and Foltz were good friends off the field and on Monday, the Badger gave a touching tribute to his friend and it was later reported he would change his jersey number.
From the day i met you i have looked up to you, not only for what you could do on the field but mostly for the person you were outside of it. You have impacted my life and the life of so many around you, there is not a single person that ever talked to you and did not love you. Like many of the kickers and punters i have been fortunate enough to meet during camps, you were like family to me. I am truly blessed to have gotten to know you and call you my friend over this past 3 years!! You have made me a better person and i will never forget our times together. This season is for you my brother!! #RIP27
In honor of his good friend, #Badgers kicker Rafael Gaglianone will wear No. 27 in memory of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz this season.

Foltz was Big Ten Punter of the Year in 2015 and he will certainly be missed by the Cornhuskers. Rafael Gaglianone will try to help carry on his legacy in any way he can.
