The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced an intriguing addition to UFC 202 later this month. On Wednesday, the promotion announced No. 14-ranked strawweight Randa Markos will be returning to action against Cortney Casey at the event.
Both women will enter the bout fresh off of victories.
Casey (5-3) earned the first victory of her UFC career last month by scoring a first-round TKO win over Cristina Stanciu. Casey had lost her previous two Octagon appearances to Seo Hee Ham and Joanne Calderwood.
Markos (6-3) is two months removed from her June victory over Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger. It was the second win under the UFC banner of Markos’ career. Her previous win was over fellow TUF 20 cast member Aisling Daly.
Casey and Markos will now look to build some momentum as they climb the strawweight ladder.
UFC 202 takes place on Aug. 20 at T-Mobile Arena. In the main event, featherweight champion Conor McGregor faces Nate Diaz in a highly-anticipated rematch. In the co-main event, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson faces Glover Teixeira.
