On Friday, it was reported the Oklahoma Sooners would be losing a piece of their defensive line in Courtney Garnett. Later on in the day, it was reported that he had already found his new home in Grambling State.
Bob Przybylo of Sooners Illustrated reported that Garnett would be heading to play for the Tigers to continue his career Friday afternoon. He will be heading back to his home state of Louisiana for the foreseeable future.

Garnett was a three-star member of the Sooners’ 2014 class and was rated as the No. 27 overall player in the state at the time. He was originally committed to Notre Dame, but he flipped his decision on National Signing Day two years ago.
He redshirted in 2014 and did not see the field last year. Because he is going to play for an FCS school, he will be eligible to play immediately in 2016 and would have three years left to play.
