A few weeks ago, it was announced that Auburn had dismissed potential starting running back Jovon Robinson. It looks like he has already found a new home to play his final year of eligibility in Valdosta State.
Robinson transferred to Auburn ahead of the 2015 season out of Georgia Military College as the top-rated junior college prospect. It was reported by Gridiron Now that he would be heading back to the state of Georgia to play his final year of eligibility with Kerwin Bell’s Blazers.
Currently, the Blazers are looking for a new featured running back after losing five rushers from the 2015 season. Robinson, who rushed for over 600 yards in a backup role at Auburn last year, should be able to fit in just well with the Blazers.
He was expected to be the top running back for the Tigers this year after Peyton Barber left for the NFL and Roc Thomas transferred. Now, he will hope to help Valdosta State get back to the Division II playoffs for a third straight season.
