Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs is set to be one of the better players in the SEC this year and he can certainly make a big impact for the team this year.
However, one former SEC quarterback believes he must play better if the Vols want to compete in the SEC.
Tim Tebow, who is currently working with SEC Network as a football analyst, talked about how Dobbs will have to play better in the fourth quarter if he wants to have success.
“He’s going to have to do more in the fourth quarters of big games,” Tebow said on the SEC Network’s SEC Nation preview show.
“(Dobbs) has to play his best when the game is on the line, (like) against Alabama, last year when they needed it against Oklahoma,” he said. “Tennessee could have been undefeated if in the fourth quarter he could have stepped up.”
This is certainly good advice from one of the most clutch quarterbacks in college football history. It certainly seems Dobbs should take Tebow’s advice and run with it.
The Volunteers open the season on Sept. 1 against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.
