Tennessee to honor Pat Summitt with special helmet sticker

Earlier this year, the Tennessee Volunteers were saddened to learn of the passing of former women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt. She has been battling Alzheimer’s Disease over the last few years and lost that battle on June 28.

The Volunteers football team is going to honor the coach this year with a pretty cool helmet sticker. It was reported by Mike Griffith of the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that they will have a special helmet sticker that resembles Summitt’s famed circled P signature.

This is certainly going to be pretty cool for the Volunteers to do for Summitt. She coached the Lady Vols for 38 years and led them to eight NCAA championships in her career.

The Volunteers open the season on Sept. 1 against Appalachian State.
