As Sean Maguire is still recovering from an ankle injury and Malik Henry has been suspended from the team, the Florida State Seminoles were left with a pretty easy decision for their starting quarterback position. Redshirt freshman Deondre Francois has been named the starting quarterback for at least the first game of the 2016 season.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher spoke with reporters on Saturday and announced that Francois will start the team’s game against Ole Miss on Monday, Sept. 5. This should be good for the Seminoles as Francois has been on fire this summer.

Francois was a four-star member of the team’s 2015 recruiting class and was ranked as the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the country. He redshirted as he was sitting behind Everett Golson and Maguire.
The Seminoles and Rebels meet up on Sept. 5 in Orlando at Camping World Stadium in a Labor Day night meeting.
