The Georgia Bulldogs have had an interesting quarterback battle this offseason and it looks like it has been settled for at least the first game of the year. According to multiple outlets, star freshman quaterback Jacob Eason has been given the starting nod against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Scout.com reported that Eason was told he would play the entire game against the Tar Heels on Saturday, which takes place at the Georgia Dome as part of the annual Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. He beat out senior Greyson Lambert, who will run the second-team offense this week, and Brice Ramsey, who will be the third-string guy and continue his punting duties.
Eason joined the Bulldogs as a five-star member of the team’s 2016 recruiting class. He has been battling with Lambert for the starting job all summer long and it will be fun to see if he can get the job done against a tough North Carolina defense.
The Bulldogs and Tar Heels meet up on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.
