The Georgia Bulldogs have had a pretty interesting quarterback situation all summer and they will continue to have one going into the season. However, we now know who will get the starting nod against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
It was announced Thursday morning that fifth-year senior Greyson Lambert would start the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Saturday. This comes after it was rumored that five-star quarterback Jacob Eason had been given the starting nod and would play the entire game.
The two have been battling all summer for the starting job and it looks like experience won out as Lambert started 12 games for the Bulldogs in 2015. In those games, he went 10-2 and threw for 1,959 yards and 12 touchdowns against just two interceptions.
The Bulldogs are looking to make an impact in the SEC and win the East for the first time since 2012. It certainly seems like Lambert is ready to lead the team into the season.
Georgia and North Carolina face off at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. EST on Saturday. The game will broadcast on ESPN.
