USC suspends Jabari Ruffin one half for groin stomp

During Saturday night’s embarrassing loss to Alabama, USC defender Jabari Ruffin was ejected after intentionally stepping on the groin of Crimson Tide defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Now, he will have to face the consequences of his actions, though they are admittedly light.

On Sunday, Trojans head coach Clay Helton announced Ruffin would be suspended for the first half of their Week 2 meeting with Utah State.

People understandably mocked the light suspension, especially considering how blatant and unacceptable Ruffin’s actions were on the field, but the Trojans feel this is suitable. To be fair, you need all the help you can get while trying to rebound from a 52-6 shellacking.
